Botswana’s Ministry of Environment and Tourism has announced the temporary closure of road access to Moremi Game Reserve from March 5-26 due to flooding in the region. Authorities say flooded routes have made road travel into the reserve unsafe although air transfers to lodges remain operational.
The Ministry said the closure is necessary to ensure public safety while it continues to monitor the situation. Lodges within the reserve, particularly those with fly-in guests, are operating as normal.
Visitors to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve are also advised to be aware of possible flooding in the area.
