Mozambican operator, Kaya Airlines, has launched flights to Inhaca Island, Machangulo and Zongoene. The inaugural flights took place on December 8.
Inhaca is a tourist resort and an important biodiversity centre in Maputo Bay. Machangulo is on a peninsula that is the nearest part of the mainland to Inhaca, and Zongoene is a resort near the mouth of the Limpopo River in Gaza province.
Kaya Airlines CEO, Faustino Cruz, said flights to Inhaca had been launched as a result of requests from the local population. He also revealed that the company was in the process of acquiring five more aircraft: an eight-seat corporate jet; three 50-seat jets and a 75-seat jet. He said they should all be available within the next four months.
