Upgrade your seat to first-class for thousands of rands, or find this man in an airport near you to swap for one.
Gilbert Ott, a 32-year-old blogger and frequent flyer, has partnered with Capital One Venture for an exciting game of hide and seek for a priceless (and pricey) reward.
The game begins with Gilbert sharing a few clues on his Instagram page by saying something like “I'm leaving London Heathrow for an airport that's abbreviation is one character off of "wow". Clue: it's in Europe.”
His rules are equally simple. “If you're on my flight, my seat in 1A is yours, and I'll take yours.” The #WheresGilbert challenge runs from November 30 until December 11, with the itinerary including long-haul trips to Los Angeles and Hong Kong. The only catch is that Gilbert has to be found before he steps on the plane.
When he did something similar in 2017, Gilbert said he successfully managed to get 30 people upgraded at the small cost of being chased by crowds through airports around the world.
