Bathrooms are generally pretty boring places – the same plain white or chrome equipment with some splashes of colour here and there.
But all bathrooms, it seems, are not made equal.
Here are some weird bathrooms around the world.
- Tuba urinals in Germany.
A Freiburg restaurant in Germany has three tubas as urinals. Interesting design, but they are probably a pain to keep clean and shiny.
- Urilifts in Europe
These are pretty common in Europe. The silver cylindrical urinals pop up in the evening when it is time to party and simply disappear into the ground in the morning.
- Glass and mirrors in Switzerland and Texas
In Switzerland and Texas there are public restrooms both made with glass and mirrors, meaning you can see outside world but people cannot see in.
- Tokyo’s Robot restaurant
This robot restroom has sparkling gold walls and flower print toilets and urinals.
- Go for a ride in Mississippi
The urinals at Hal and Mal’s in Jackson Mississippi have a motorcycle painted on the wall behind them.
- Fishy toilet in Japan
Ever wanted to be surrounded by fish and water when going to the bathroom? Well either way the woman’s restroom at Mumin Papa Café in Akashi Japan is surrounded by an aquarium. Three walls around the toilet are filled with fish. Oh, and the only male allowed, the sea turtle.
