Jock Safari Lodge, part of the Shamwari Group, has changed the name of Little Jock Lodge to Fitzpatrick’s at Jock.
The lodge, which is situated in the Jock of the Bushveld Concession in the Kruger National Park, is an intimate camp with only three suites.
The name change was implemented to coincide with a soft refurbishment that included new outdoor furniture, a boma and installation of an indoor fireplace in the main lodge.
Fitzpatrick’s at Jock is named after Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, author of ‘Jock of the Bushveld’. “We felt it was only appropriate to carry on the history of Jock Safari Lodge and bring in a new perspective and feel to the lodge by the new name, which aims to leave guests with knowledge of a significant part of South African history,” said Joe Cloete, Shamwari Group General Manager.
