Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism enhances visitor experience

The electronic pass card enhances visitors’ experience of Nelson Mandela Bay.

Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism (NMBT) has introduced the Nelson Mandela Bay electronic pass card, which will increase accessibility and convenience for visitors and locals to explore the city.

The pass gives travellers free and discounted admission to a variety of attractions and activities in Nelson Mandela Bay, including museums, game reserves, scuba diving, art galleries and sightseeing tours. The card also entitles travellers to discounts in selected stores for shopping, activities and entertainment.

NMBT CEO, Mandlakazi Skefile, said “NMBT has received various requests from tour operators and travel agents interested in selling the Nelson Mandela Bay pass. Getting the physical cards to them was creating an obstacle in accessibility. Therefore, after signing a deal with Thompsons to sell and promote the Nelson Mandela Bay pass, we decided to implement an additional card-less pass in the form of a voucher.”

There are two types of Nelson Mandela Bay visitor passes: the five-in-one pass that costs R300 for children and R450 for adults; and the unlimited access pass that costs R200 for children and R300 for adults.
