Nomad Tanzania will open Mkombe’s House Lamai, a private, safari family house in the Serengeti National Park on July 1.
The house is named after Mkombe Mniko – one of Nomad’s founders and inspirational safari guide who died in 2007, the tour operator said. “Widely known for his exceptional gift of sharing his knowledge and love of the African bush with guests, particularly families and children, Mkombe infected those lucky enough to have travelled with him, with his intelligence, compassion and sense of humour. He was instrumental in establishing Nomad’s reputation for developing some of the best safari guides in the country; one that Nomad Tanzania continues to champion to this day.”
Accommodating two families, the house offers two double rooms, each with an adjoining room for children. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms. A minimum of four adults per stay is required.
Guests can make use of a private car and guide, a camp crew including a maître d’ and housekeeper and an in-house chef who will plan and co-ordinate all meals.
The house is a few miles from the Mara River, where the migration crosses every year between July and October.
