Head of Department and Senior Lecturer Tourism and Event Management at the Central University of Technology in the Free State, Johan Hattingh, died this week.
SATSA made this announcement yesterday.
“It was with great shock that we received the news this morning of the passing away of our fellow SATSA board member and Free State Chapter Chair.
As a Doctor in Tourism & Event Management with a huge passion for history, the Free State (and the Cheetahs – the Free State rugby team) and South Africa, Johan has taught and inspired many a person to become part of our tourism family.
You are leaving a gaping hole, Johan, and our hearts are just completely broken.
We hold Johan's family, friends and colleagues at Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) in our thoughts and prayers. Your loss is ours.”
