People on the Move

Tourism Radio’s Mark Allewell has stepped down as CEO of Tourism Radio, handing over the reins to fellow co-founder, Hayden Braddock, with effect from 1 November. Braddock has served as MD of Tourism Radio New Zealand. Allewell will retain his business interests in the company and continue to offer strategic and advisory support.

“I plan to take a year’s sabbatical with my new family to explore the world, starting from February 1, 2014, and look forward to watching Hayden take the company to new heights,” said Allewell.

The transition for Braddock to the role of CEO has been planned for the last 18-months, and he will be assisted by Francesco Stemmet, who has assumed the GM role of Tourism Radio South Africa. Stemmet has been with the company for the past five-and-a-half years.

Islands of Siankaba has appointed Warren Green & Associates to represent it in the US and Canada, with immediate effect. The company, headed by Warren Green, will focus on assisting sustainable ecotourism destinations to gain greater recognition in the North American travel market.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Warren Green,” said Islands of Siankaba Marketing Manager, Emma Seaman. “There are many synergies connecting us: from Warren's in-depth knowledge of the Zambian safari and his extensive experience with sustainable tourism companies, to his exemplary track record in America."
