The Regional Tourism Organisation of Southern Africa (Retosa) has appointed Kenneth Racombo as Acting CEO with immediate effect.
Racombo is currently Executive of Resource Mobilisation and Development at Retosa. He will be leading the management through a focused process of securing strategic partnerships, funding and an innovative tourism value proposition for the region.
Racombo was previously Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Republic of Seychelles. He has a Masters Degree in diplomatic studies with the University of Pretoria, a Masters Degree in Leadership and Strategic Management from the Institute of Public Administration in Ireland and a Degree in Economics from the University of Mauritius.
Alia Bellamy has been appointed Marketing Manager of Elewana Collection.
Bellamy was born and raised in Kenya and then went on to complete her A Levels and University in the UK, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Hospitality Management.
She has over 15 years’ experience in the industry, starting her career with Abercrombie & Kent and then moved into advertising, branding and marketing, working on brands such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Barclays and Safaricom.
Leon Meyer has been appointed the new General Manager for the Westin Hotel in Cape Town.
He will focus on incorporating his personal philosophies into the hotel to further grow the business.

Faircity Hotels has appointed Francois Stremmelaar as General Manager of Kievits Kroon Country Estate, just outside of Pretoria.
During his training years at Legacy Hotels, Centurion Lake Hotel, he was awarded the overall prize for an internal cost saving and business development competition at the hotel.
Stremmelaar has been in the industry for 22 years, his experience includes project management, strategic planning, resource utilisation, revenue growth, sales and marketing, as well as cost management.
He has managed hotels such as Sunset Beach Hotel in the Seychelles, Royal Elephant and Conference Centre, and Misty Hills Country Hotel Conference Centre and Spa.
At a recent Satsa AGM, a new Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Treasurer were elected.
Gavin Courtenay was re-elected as Satsa Chairperson. Joining Courtenay is new Vice-Chairperson, Tony Romer-Lee from PMR Hospitality, and Treasurer, Martin Jansen van Vuuren from Grant Thornton.
The Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa (Fedhasa) Inland region recently announced the appointment of Lebo Letsoalo as the newest member to its regional board, as Head of the Catering Segment.
Letsoalo is the Director of Morish Cuisine Catering.
