People on the Move: TDM announces top executive movements

Tourvest Destination Management (TDM) has seen four key movements in its top executive team.

Bryan Coetzee has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Sport, Leisure and B2C environments in Europe within Tourvest Destination Management.

The emergence and growth of TDM’s UK and European territory is an exciting opportunity. Coetzee expects to achieve this growth through repositioning and improving what TDM already does.

He continues to focus on sport events, school team travel, as well as a new segment called Elite Team Travel for sports teams under the new brand, TEAM Travel Management.

Matthew Nicholls will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer of Tourvest Destination Management from September 1.

He will be responsible for overseeing the finance function for the division as a whole and driving TDM’s financial strategy as it navigates the new operational environment in the tourism industry.

Illana Pereira has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Sport, Leisure and B2C environments in South Africa within Tourvest Destination Management.

She is responsible for the sales, marketing and operational environments of SA Rugby Travel, Pure Travel, Journeys through Africa and E-Prix Travel Cape Town.

Martijn Mellaart oversees Tourvest Destination Management’s Sense of Oceans brand, which includes selected TDM beach destinations in Africa.

He is also responsible for the Franchise Hub, which includes e.DMC, an enterprise management platform for Southern African DMCs. The franchise model will cover key destinations that are not covered by the TDM African footprint. Future franchise partnerships include Rwanda, Ethiopia and West Africa. The first franchise office will launch in October as Sense of Oceans Madagascar.
