Timbavati reserve made an application to hunt an elephant that meets the criteria of being more than 50 years old, that is not iconic (named) or collared, and with an unlimited tusk weight. The application was approved by Mpumalanga and Limpopo’s conservation agencies after being checked by the Kruger National Park. Defending the hunt, Bryan Havemann, Timbavati Warden, said the money generated from the hunt would be invested in conservation efforts.
