SAA to launch showcase in America

South African Airways will launch its 2017 Africa Showcase in North America, from September 7 to 13.

The annual educational travel trade show will visit Washington DC on September 7, Toronto on September 11 and Los Angeles on September 13.

The Africa Showcase is a collaborative partnership presented by SAA, SA Tourism and On Show Solutions.

In its ninth year, the Africa Showcase is the largest travel trade event in North America exclusively promoting Africa. The show brings together travel specialists and African suppliers representing hotels, safari lodges, destination tourism organisations and other attractions that are popular with North American travellers.

Travel agents and tour operators specialising in tourism to Africa are invited to attend to meet one-on-one with over 30 exhibitors to learn about trends, new properties and updated destination products.

The trade show also gives new travel agents and tour operators that are not currently selling Africa an opportunity to broaden their sales portfolio and learn more about selling Africa as a destination.

“The Africa Showcase is a highly productive trade show and a great networking opportunity,” said Todd Neuman, Executive Vice President of North America for SAA. “For 2017, the showcase is well represented by an exceptional line-up of suppliers and we are pleased to have representation and product experiences from more than 14 African countries.”

“This year we are pleased to welcome South African Tourism as our official destination partner,” said Jacqui Reynolds, owner of On Show Solutions.

Bangu Masisi, President, South African Tourism, Americas said: “This partnership supports the destination’s value-for-money and time proposition to grow tourism throughout the region, making it easier for travellers to extend their holidays to our neighbouring countries.  We are excited to use this platform to raise awareness of South Africa’s variety of affordable and authentic experiences, as we continue to showcase our safari-plus adventures, food and wine offerings, art and culture experiences, and our biggest asset – the warm and welcoming people of South Africa.”
