The Department of Health has until this Friday (April 15) to comment on the draft regulations that stipulate that all travellers exiting South Africa must possess either proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test, but readers have been quick to voice their concerns about the move.
When asked in our latest poll if they thought the requirement to show a vaccination certificate or negative PCR test to exit South Africa, regardless of destination country, would negatively affect inbound tourism, 81% of readers voted a resounding ‘yes’.
Only 14% said ‘no’, and just 5% of the 111 voters said ‘maybe’.
This week, Tourism Update continues with its monthly check-in to gauge the industry’s recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Readers can vote in the salary poll below or in the sidebar to the right of the screen.
