Stargazing in Namibia with Springbok Atlas Tours

Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris has recently launched a seven-night stargazing experience in Namibia in celebration of the NamibRand Nature Reserve being proclaimed Africa’s first dark sky reserve.

The tour starts with a two-night stay at GocheGanas Nature Reserve in Windhoek, which includes a stargazing experience with Space Observation Learning Namibia (SOLNA), as well as an opportunity to learn about astrophotography.

Next, the tour heads to the NamibRand Nature Reserve, where guests will stay at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge for two nights.  The lodge is equipped with its own specially designed observatory and powerful telescope. Each evening resident astronomers give fascinating presentations on the stars and constellations in the southern African sky.

The tour ends with three nights in the Swakopmund area, including one night of camping under the stars, and an introduction to astrophotography.

Guests also have the opportunity to add on an additional two nights at Taleni Etosha Village in Etosha National Park. The additional two days include stargazing in Twyfelfontein and game drives in Etosha.
