Tourists urged not to speed in Kruger following accident

Visitors to Kruger are advised to drive carefully, especially on gravel surfaces.

Following a car accident in the Kruger National Park involving three tourists from the UK, SANParks is urging visitors to the park to adhere to the speed limit at all times.

The accident occurred when a man and two women from the UK collided head on with a vehicle carrying four local occupants near Punda Maria Camp on March 10.  SANParks said the two drivers and all passengers in both vehicles sustained injuries and were rushed to the nearest medical facility outside Punda Maria.

“We would like to appeal to tourists who visit the park to please observe speed limit at all times, with extra attention on gravel surfaces in the park in order to avoid unnecessary accidents such as this,” said Glenn Phillips, the Managing Executive of KNP.
