Warwick International Hotels (WIH) has partnered with South African-based Recreation Africa Group (RAG) to expand its network of hotels throughout sub -Saharan Africa.
The partnership will see the creation of a joint-venture company, Warwick International Hotels Africa Limited, based in Johannesburg and headed by CEO Don Elliot. Initially, the company will target East African countries including Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, as well as Nigeria and Ghana.
Warwick International Hotels has affiliated hotels in Africa, including the Alhambra Thalasso Hotel in Tunisia and the Hivernage Hotel & Spa in Morocco. In South Africa it is associated with RAG’s Misty Hills Country Hotel Conference Centre & Spa in Johannesburg and Kedar Country Hotel Conference Centre & Spa in Rustenburg.

"We are very pleased to form this joint venture with a major tourism player in Africa,” said Jean- Francois Garnier, Director of Group Development for WIH Hotels. “Together, through Warwick International Hotels Africa Limited, we will build a network of hotels under management contracts to meet a considerably growing demand in terms of high-level hotels in Africa.”
“We are proud of our 14-year affiliation with WIH and see this joint venture as a strengthening of this relationship for the future,” said Robert Forsyth, Chairman of RAG.
