Zanzibar lodge gets an upgrade

Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge has reopened.

Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge, a Newmark property, reopened on August 1, following upgrades.

Chuini is on the west coast and a 20-minute drive from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport and Stone Town.

Newmark partnered with Interior Designer,  Francois du Plessis, on the make-over.

Each of the thatched bungalows was fully renovated with contemporary beach-style décor, a rustic chic design coupled with natural light.

The lodge now features a wooden deck with two pools, one of which is a rim-flow pool.

The three restaurants were also refurbished.

Additional equipment includes paddleboards, canoes, a pool table, table tennis, lilos and beach bats, and a boat for private excursions. The boat departs every day directly from the front of the lodge and is complimentary for resident guests on a first-come, first-served basis (to be booked in advance).

Yoga sessions are also available on the beach on request.

Neil Markovitz, Newmark’s Managing Director says: “Chuini is a special addition to the Newmark portfolio. The landscapes combined with the natural aged ruins create a unique ambience. This is the distinct spirit of Zanzibar we wanted to capture and replicate at Chuini.”
