According to Thomas Dhliwayo, Operations Manager at Jenman Zimbabwe Safaris, tourists visiting Victoria Falls should not be alarmed by the recent protests in the country.
“The protest action didn’t affect our operations at all, everything went smoothly. Today (July 8) everything is back to normal,” said Dhliwayo.
He said while this was the first time he had seen protests in the Victoria Falls area, they were not violent, as they had been in big cities such as Harare, Bulawayo and at the Beit Bridge border post. “The police arrested the people holding banners in the area,” he said.
