Airlink resumes St Helena flights

On Saturday (March 26), independent carrier, Airlink, resumed flights between South Africa and St Helena.

After a two-year absence – flights were suspended in March 2020 due to COVID-19 – Airlink will offer fortnightly flights between Johannesburg and St Helena and a monthly inter-island service to Ascension Island.

The St Helena government requires all passengers (vaccinated or unvaccinated) to undergo a 10-day quarantine on arrival to St Helena. Passengers can quarantine at home or at an accommodation establishment that meets the specified requirements for home quarantine.

A statement from the government noted that ‘bubble’ arrangements, which allow arriving passengers to enter mandatory home quarantine with each other or with persons on-island, have been approved.

These strict regulations will stay in place until at least the end of March, according to the government of St Helena.
