ATTA for Action Awards opens for entries

ATTA for Action Awards 2026 has opened for entries. Now in the third year, the awards seek to recognise organisations that are championing positive change and regenerative travel in Africa’s tourism sector.

This year’s programme will retain last year’s 10 categories. Chris Mears, CEO of ATTA Group Events, said: “By keeping our categories consistent, we are challenging the industry to show us progress. We want to see how last year’s emerging ideas have become this year’s business models.”

Applicants can enter a maximum of two of the following categories:

  • Hosts and heritage
  • Conserving wildlife
  • Protecting the planet and climate change
  • Food and water, minimising waste and optimising recycling
  • Health, wellbeing and economic development
  • Africa’s coastline supporting marine and coastal environments
  • Reducing inequality
  • Education and development
  • Media as a voice for action
  • Emerging changemakers

Criteria for each category can be found on the ATTA website

The deadline is April 17 and decisions will be made by a judging panel including industry stalwarts with historical insights as well as young changemakers offering fresh perspectives. The awards ceremony will take place at Experience Africa, London, on June 22.

Nigel Vere-Nicoll, Honorary President of ATTA, highlighted the role the awards play as a respected industry benchmark for positive impact. “Beyond recognition, these awards provide a platform for organisations to position themselves as leaders in the eyes of international buyers actively seeking purpose-led partners. Entering is an opportunity to validate their team’s hard work on a global stage.”

The entry form is available on the ATTA website. There is no application fee.
