DELTA has received the necessary South African Civil Aviation Authority approval to begin flights between Johannesburg and Atlanta, with an intermediate stop in Dakar, Senegal, effective December 5. The new service, still subject to approval from the Senegalese government, will depart Johannesburg at 19h00 and arrive in Dakar at 02h15 the following day. It will then depart Dakar at 03h30 and arrive in Atlanta at 08h10. The return flight will depart Atlanta at 15h55 and arrive in Dakar at 05h30 the following day. It will then depart Dakar at 06h45 and arrive in Johannesburg at 17h00. Delta will operate the route with a B767-300ER, with a capacity to carry up to 214 passengers in a two-class configuration.
