A new safari destination, 30km north of Zambia’s Kafue National Park, is set to welcome its first guests in August. The 30 000 hectare Lolelunga Private Game Reserve will be home to a luxury lodge accommodating up to 14 guests in three standard king rooms, two junior suites and a family suite.
Amenities at the lodge will include a gym, rim-flow swimming pool, spa and deck that can be reserved for private dining or starlit sleepouts.
Situated on the banks of the perennial Lunga River, the lodge will offer fully inclusive accommodation that includes twice-daily game drives, walking safaris, fishing, canoeing and archery.
Children will be catered for through the Lolelunga Nature Navigators Club activity programme.

Once scarred by deforestation and poaching, the reserve has been restored through a partnership with the local Kaonde tribe. Now it supports wildlife including lion, cheetah, buffalo and elephant with black rhino set to be reintroduced soon.
The Zambian owners have invested in the local community through the building of two secondary schools, drilling over 50 boreholes for fresh water and the provision of agricultural support to 500 families.
A new private airstrip provides access to the reserve and also ensures that vital medical supplies can reach the community’s six local clinics.
