DURBAN International Airport has been temporarily closed after an aircraft went off the runway while landing earlier today. Bad weather conditions were believed to have been the cause of the incident. No injuries were reported on the British Airways flight.

Solomon Makgale, Airports Company South Africa spokesperson, has confirmed that all operations at the airport have been shut down while officials clear the area and declare it safe. He says, "the airport will re-open once the investigation process is complete, which should be later today".

Meanwhile, flights headed for Durban International have been told to turn back.
