Travelodge has revealed plans to open three new hotels in Kasane, Ghanzi and Palapye in Botswana.

A new 64-room hotel is expected to open in Kasane this year. Justin Jose, Head of Project Development told Tourism Update the opening was just pending the granting of a hotel licence.

The new property will have a swimming pool, conference facility that can accommodate up to 150 delegates, and a restaurant. The hotel will be 3km from the airport, near the Chobe Game Reserve.

Construction of the Travelodge Ghanzi is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2017. The 52-room hotel will be 2km from Ghanzi CBD along the Trans-Kalahari highway.

A third planned development, Travelodge Palapye, will offer 100 rooms and a 400-seat conference. This development is undergoing an environmental impact assessment.
