Cape Grace offers new kids’ safari-themed room

Cape Grace, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, has launched a new kids’ room designed with direct input from children, including those of the hotel’s GM Leon Meyer. The space, tested by the children themselves, features a “safari sleepover” theme shaped entirely from their ideas and then built by local designers.

The room includes twin beds with an additional bunk above and a concealed interleading door to the parents’ suite with an option to add a third room for multigenerational stays. Layouts and amenities can be tailored to different age groups from babies to teenagers. A portion of the room’s revenue will support local conservation initiatives with plans for a wildlife charity partnership.

“Wow, a whole room just for us? It’s like our own jungle fort at last. Now we have space that’s perfect for our adventures – away from the fancy grown-up rooms! The teepee is my secret lion cave! I hid in there with my stuffed elephant and pretended we were on a real safari. And the cookies to decorate? Best part ever. Mine had sprinkles like stars!” said Marc Lluc, Meyer’s nine-year-old son.

Additional amenities include:

  • For babies and toddlers: sterilisers, milk warmers, baby baths, soft toys, bath-time items, a small teepee and an adventure passport
  • For older children and teens: bicycles, a PlayStation 5, a top-bunk hideout, biscuit decorating, movie nights, a non-alcoholic cocktail masterclass and an age-appropriate minibar.

Beyond the room, Cape Grace has introduced a Little Spa Menu and a Teens & Tweens offering at The Fairmont Spa as well as a Kids Afternoon Tea featuring savoury bites, scones and desserts.
