Kenya lifts UK flight restrictions

Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lifted all flight restrictions between the United Kingdom and the East African country.

The British High Commission in Kenya was notified in a formal letter on June 9, and the lifting of the flight ban is immediate.

The UK has traditionally been one of Kenya’s top-five tourism source markets, recording 181 484 UK visitors in 2019, according to a recent report by Kenya’s Business Daily.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority noted that all arriving passengers from the UK should be in possession of a valid COVID-19 negative PCR test, conducted within 96 hours prior to travelling.

Passengers and crew must also isolate for seven days on arrival in the country and will have to take a second PCR test four days after arrival.
