International Tourism Month will begin on September 1 with the theme Tourism: Linking Cultures. A visit to the Getaway Show in Johannesburg and the Knysna I-Course will be included in the Knysna Tourism programme of events to show what the greater Knysna area has to offer.
“Then there are many options available to locals who want to experience what their hometown has on offer during our ‘Take a holiday in your own backyard’ initiative,” said Development Manager Glendyrr Fick.
The Knysna I-Course will aim to teach the front office staff who work directly with guests, staff guiding visitors, and restaurant managers more about the greater Knysna area and its surrounds. The course will be run by Debbie Stanley and HattiThesen from Eco Ed. “We are also running a special on the I-Course for Tourism Month,” Fick added. “When you sign up one candidate or staff member, you can register another one free of charge.”
The course will run in the Knysna Tourism boardroom from 10h00 to 13h00 on the September 6, 8, 13 and 15.
