Virgin Limited Edition’s Mahali Mzuri has officially reopened after its first full interior redesign since launching in 2013.
Located in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy in Kenya’s Greater Maasai Mara, the 12-tented safari camp, part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition collection, has reopened in time for peak season and the Great Migration.
The refurbishment enhances the property’s connection to the surrounding environment with new floor-to-ceiling glass windows installed in each suite.
The redesign, developed in partnership with Lynne Hunt London, draws inspiration from local Maasai culture. Textiles and furnishings were sourced from Nairobi-based suppliers including Siafu, Matbronze and Nishit & Co. Circle Art Gallery curated a collection of East African artworks from artists such as Theresa Musoke and Dickens Otieno alongside beadwork by The Maa Trust.
Each tented suite includes a king-size or twin-bed setup, lounge area, walk-in shower, freestanding bathtub overlooking the valley and a private viewing deck. A family suite is available with two bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. Amenities include complimentary mini bars, yoga mats and stamped postcards.
Communal areas such as the open firepit, restaurant, bar and infinity pool have also been updated. Cabanas around the pool feature red and black soft furnishings referencing traditional Maasai dress.

Sustainability features remain central to the property including a solar farm, rainwater harvesting system and on-site kitchen garden. Staff uniforms were redesigned by Kenyan heritage brand KikoRomeo using locally sourced materials.
