Major upgrade for Brandwag Hotel

BRANDWAG Hotel, located in the heart of the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Free State, is undergoing a R30m upgrade and will reopen as the Golden Gate Hotel.


The three-storey hotel, set to open in December, will now have 55 rooms (previously 34) with views of the surroundings mountains.


The Presidential Suite is accessed by a private corridor and is spacious enough to allow for meetings and intimate private entertainment.


The honeymoon suite has an open-plan design and will be fitted with a Jacuzzi and a shower.


The hotel will have a cocktail and coffee bar lounge on the top floor with views of the nearby Brandwag Rock. There are fireplaces in the bar lounge for the cold winter months.


The conference venue will be fitted with state-of-the-art conferencing equipment, with the largest of the five venues accommodating more than 300 delegates. A small business centre will offer Internet, printing and faxing.


The new restaurant will seat 300 people and will be divisible for private functions and there will be a sport bar with two big-screen televisions.


The new modern look and feel of the hotel has been designed to enhance the original style of the 70s and a permanent concierge will be available to assist guests.  

 
The 34 self-catering chalets located nearby, will receive a minor upgrade to complement the new Golden Gate Hotel.
