Long Tom Toboggan, a 1.7km monorail track opened in March around the mountains in the Long Tom Pass, Misty Mountain in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
The monorail track is built on the principles of the European model known as an “alpine coaster” or “sommerrodelbahn” and reaches a top speed of 45km/hour.
Long Tom Toboggan is Africa’s first toboggan run of this type.
Travellers can access the toboggan at Misty Mountain, on R37 Long Tom Pass, 24 kilometres from Sabie and 31 kilometres from Lydenburg, Panorama Route, Mpumalanga.
The ride is commissionable at 20% for all bookings made by tour operators or directly to guides who book their pax in on site.
