The Kenya Tourism Board recently hosted the Aberdare Trail Series – a three-day expedition designed to showcase the Aberdare National Park’s biodiversity, ecological significance and heritage.
The event – part of the Magical Kenya Trail Series – included tree planting in the Ol Kalou Arboretum, a hike to Ol Donyo Lesatima (the highest mountain in the Aberdare range) and another hike that explored the park’s waterfalls.
“The Aberdare ecosystem is a living testimony to Kenya’s diversity – from its natural landscapes and endemic wildlife to its historical depth. Through this series, we have curated experiences that immerse adventurers in the soul of our wilderness while also driving awareness of conservation and cultural heritage,” said Kenya Tourism Board’s CEO June Chepkemei.
“The Aberdare series is a prime example of how adventure can serve as a lens through which to explore history, culture and conservation,” said Chepkemei.
The Aberdare Trail Series builds on the success of the Heritage Trails Expedition & Barngetuny Run in January and the Magharibi Trail Series in May. Upcoming legs of the Magical Kenya Trail Series will take explorers to Mount Kenya, the Central Rift Valley and Mount Elgon.
