Newmark Hotels & Reserves will open Thitaka River Lodge, a luxury tented camp in Namibia’s Bwabwata National Park in the Zambezi region, in July.
Located along the Kwando River, the lodge is positioned within a remote landscape and will offer access via a 280km road transfer or private charter to an on-site airstrip. Access routes include a three-hour drive from Kasane via Chobe National Park and the Botswana-Namibia border or a one-hour transfer from Katima Mulilo.
The lodge will offer a range of tents, including luxury, private villa and family options set on elevated decks within a forested elephant corridor and designed for privacy and views.
Dining will focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients with guests able to select produce from the lodge’s herb and vegetable garden.
Experiences will include game drives, river safaris, bird watching and walking safaris. A spa will also be available. The development incorporates low-impact design and local sourcing as part of its sustainability approach.
Community integration is part of the offering, including locally made crafts sold on site.
“Thitaka Lodge reflects our continued focus on creating experiences that are deeply connected to place. It’s not only about offering a new destination but about shaping something that feels considered, grounded and aligned with the landscape and the community around it,” said Neil Markovitz, CEO of Newmark Hotels & Reserves.
