Ruth Chege has been appointed General Manager of the newly created Touring Division, which brings Product & Contracting, Database and Reservations under one structure. With over 24 years of experience across leading tour operators, she is aiming to improve efficiency and customer experience across the division.

Peter Kasau, previously Head of Operations, has been appointed General Manager of the Operations Division, overseeing customer service, logistics, fleet management and guide teams across East Africa.

Lilliane Mugo has been named General Manager of the Niche Cluster Division, which consolidates Pure Travel, Drifters and Sense Getaways & Events. With over 30 years of experience in tourism operations, she will focus on strengthening niche products including global sporting travel, overland expeditions and regional travel solutions.

Serena Hotels partners with Represent CM for SA market

Serena Hotels Africa has announced a new partnership with Represent CM to strengthen its presence in the South African market. Chantelle Mogg, Senior Member of Represent CM, will serve as Serena Hotels’ key contact in South Africa.

With more than 30 years of experience in hospitality and brand management, Mogg has led market expansion and corporate partnerships across the region. “My goal is to showcase Serena Hotels not simply as a collection of properties but as a gateway to meaningful travel,” she said.

Ashish Sharma, CEO of Serena Hotels Africa, said the partnership will deepen trust and broaden reach in key markets. Joyce Wangui, Regional Sales Director, added: “Having a dedicated representative on the ground will enable us to offer customised support to our partners for business and leisure travel.”

Cape Town Tourism appoints 2025 Board

Cape Town Tourism has announced its 2025 Board members, welcoming Donald Kau, Head of PR and Communications at the V&A Waterfront, as its newest member.

Kau has more than 25 years of experience in corporate communications and stakeholder engagement with senior roles at Transnet, Meropa Communications and Santam.

Returning Board members include Tracy Mkhize, COO of the Cape Town International Convention Centre, as well as Lee-Anne Singer, Marketing and Sales Director at the Singer Group, and Shireen Onia, Founder of ServiceGurus and Co-Founder of Propati.
