People on the move: Go2Africa appoints new MD

Nicolette Poulos has been appointed Managing Director of Go2Africa as of January 2016.

Poulos has 16 years’ experience in banking, insurance and wealth management, including 11 years as a trusted adviser on business strategy, customer experience and service excellence.

After serving as CEO since 2014, Gary Lotter departs to pursue an entrepreneurial venture of his own. Go2Africa thanked Lotter for his hard work and dedication, and wished him well for his future endeavours.

Bushwise has appointed FGASA Field Guide Trainer, Vaughan Jessnitz. Jessnitz has been in the tourism industry for the last 10 years, guiding and managing camps throughout South Africa, with a focus on the Greater Kruger.

Jessnitz is also involved in various conservation and research projects specialising in entomology and bio-diversity mapping throughout South Africa. In 2002 he was awarded the Derik Grey Award for his research project focusing on using certain species of butterflies and beetles as biological indicators and represented South Africa at the SIIRS conferences in Stockholm, Sweden.

Taubie Motlhabane has been appointed Executive Director of the Tshwane Convention & Visitors Services Bureau, effective January 1. Motlhabane has held positions in the private and public sectors related to events and tourism with some of her previous employers being the SA Reserve Bank, ABSA, SA Tourism, The Forum Company and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Bob Johnson has been appointed VP of Sales for Hotel Internet Services (HIS), a full solution provider offering secure wired and wireless Internet services to casinos, hotels and resorts. The veteran business strategist has more than 20 years’ experience in the software and Internet industry and has been credited with numerous accomplishments, including building Internet Service Provider, Earthlink, from a 15-person start-up to the second largest ISP in the US. In his new role at HIS, Johnson will be tasked with directing the expansion of the company's North American sales team.
