Protea Hotels CEO, Arthur Gillis, has announced that the company will operate an existing hotel in Roodepoort, previously the Holiday Inn Express Roodepoort, from November. It will be named the Protea Hotel Roodepoort.
The 79-room hotel, located near the N1 highway and 20 minutes from Lanseria Airport, is close to major business parks and head offices. The hotel is situated in a mixed-use precinct comprising corporate offices, a Virgin Active gym and an assortment of restaurants.
Each room will offer flat-screen satellite TV, electronic safes, work stations, hair dryers, and bathrooms. There is complimentary high-speed WiFi throughout the hotel and a conference room for 40 delegates. Breakfast will be served daily and the hotel’s bar is open from 16h00 to 23h00 each day.
“The Protea Hotel Roodepoort is the second previously internationally branded hotel to have joined the Protea Hospitality Group in 2011. The award-winning Arabella Hotel & Spa became part of the superior African Pride Hotels portfolio earlier this year, and we’re looking forward to the continuation of this management and marketing contract acquisition for the foreseeable future,” said Gillis.
