The Ritz-Carlton brand will debut in the Kenyan safari sector this August with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp. Located on the banks of the Sand River, the new property will feature 20 tented suites, including a four-bedroom Presidential Suite.
The lodge will be located near the Kenya-Tanzania border and a 45-minute flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport or a five-hour drive by road.
Facilities will include a sky deck for stargazing, wine cellar, spa and wellness centre, photography studio and Discovery Hub. Dining will focus on locally sourced ingredients with options ranging from bush breakfasts to Maasai-inspired open-fire meals. Sustainability initiatives include solar power, rainwater harvesting, and local sourcing of building materials and furnishings.
The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp will join Marriott International’s growing presence in Kenya, following the JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge opening in 2023 and plans for the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp in early 2026.
