Tintswalo plans Klaserie lodge

Tintswalo Collection has confirmed the September 2025 opening of a new exclusive-use property in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Tintswalo Scops Rest will become the fourth safari product in the group’s portfolio and its first in the Klaserie.

The four-bedroomed lodge is named after the scops owl, a species found in the area, and is designed to accommodate up to eight guests. The property will operate on a sole-use basis and is aimed at small private groups or families.

Guests at Tintswalo Scops Rest will have access to a private chef and butler, and two daily safari activities in a dedicated game drive vehicle. The villa includes a private pool, outdoor patio and multiple living spaces. Two treehouses – one positioned over a dam and the other in a forested section – will be available for guests seeking a sleep-out option.

The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, established over 50 years ago, spans 60 000 hectares and shares unfenced boundaries with the Kruger National Park. It forms part of the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area. The reserve supports conservation efforts and local community projects while offering Big Five sightings within a low-density tourism area.
