Mozambique border posts to open 24 hours over festive season

Two Mozambique border posts with Swaziland and one with South Africa will be staying open 24 hours over the upcoming holiday season.

From November 28, 2008 to January 16, 2009 Namaacha, Goba (Swaziland) and the busy Ressano Garcia (South Africa) border posts will be open around the clock in order to facilitate increased traffic between the three countries.

The move is aimed at reducing congestion at these busy border posts for both returning residents who work in South Africa and for holiday makers. Border authorities are expecting some 1.5 million people to cross the border over the upcoming festive season.
