Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is nearing the end of its multi-year upgrade project with renovations focused on sustainability, energy efficiency and the modernisation of guest facilities.
Updates include full refurbishments of all 72 guest rooms and five villas, set for completion by May 2025. The design incorporates references to Maasai culture through textiles and furniture while modernising in-room amenities to meet international standards. Touchpoints across the rooms include traditional patterns inspired by kitenge fabrics alongside natural materials such as leather and locally crafted furnishings.
Dining enhancements began in 2024 with the opening of Nuru, a steakhouse-style restaurant offering local and international flavours, and The Vineyard, a private dining space serving curated tasting menus with wine pairings.
The lodge has also replaced natural thatching across the property with longer-lasting, eco-conscious synthetic alternatives. The move supports broader sustainability efforts following the commissioning of a solar farm in 2024, which now powers most of the lodge’s operations.
An upgrade to Maji, the poolside restaurant and bar, is underway and will include new dining and viewing areas with improved guest access to sunset views and wildlife sightings.
The property operates year-round in the central Serengeti and is located near major wildlife migration routes, offering access to the Great Migration and year-round predator sightings.
