African Sun has acquired Meikles Hospitality’s 50% interest in the partnership that operates The Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe, giving African Sun full control of the operation, according to New Zimbabwe.
The Victoria Falls Hotel, also known as the Grand Old Lady of the Falls, is one of the region’s oldest properties. Built in 1904 by the railway administration, the hotel was leased in the early 1970s to Southern Sun, the hotel group that preceded today’s African Sun.
Since 1998, the hotel has been operated through a 50/50 partnership between African Sun and Meikles Hospitality.
