Starting July 6, Air Mauritius will launch scheduled services to Beijing, China. This follows its direct flights to Shanghai, which were launched in January.
The service will operate once a week using an A340 aircraft. Flights will depart Mauritius at 13h40 on Saturdays, arriving in Beijing at 05h45 on Sundays. The return service will depart Beijing at 00h45 on Mondays, arriving in Mauritius at 08h45 on the same day.
As a result, the number of seats offered on the airline’s direct services to mainland China will increase from 596 to 894 one-way seats per week, a 50% increase.
With the new service, Air Mauritius now offers nine weekly flights to destinations in China (including Hong Kong):
* One direct flight to Beijing on Saturday
* Two direct flights to Shanghai on Thursdays and Sundays
* Three direct flights to Hong Kong on Tuesdays (starting July 2), Thursdays and Sundays
* Three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays via its hub in Kuala Lumpur from where passengers can connect directly to Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing on codeshare flights (with partner Malaysia Airlines).
