Air Mauritius has introduced ‘UpgradeNow’, a service that gives passengers the opportunity to upgrade to a higher class of travel a few days before departure. The service is available for a fee and is conditional upon the acceptance of an offer made by the customer.
Eligible passengers can make an offer to upgrade to business class or premium economy where available, directly through the airline’s website; by making an offer after receiving an email invitation from Air Mauritius at 14 days before departure; or by making the offer through the Air Mauritius contact centre from the day following the purchase of their ticket.
All received offers will be evaluated between three and six days prior to departure based on several criteria, including seat availability. Passengers must communicate their email address to Air Mauritius when making their reservation, as they will be notified by email. Accepted offers will be charged to the debit or credit card to be provided by the passengers.
André Viljoen, CEO Air Mauritius, said: “We are constantly trying to find new ways to serve our customers better. ‘UpgradeNow’ gives a broader range of passengers access to the comfort and service of our business-class cabin and services. It is one of the new offerings that we are introducing as part of our objective to step up service.”
