Cape Town Tourism has launched a new campaign titled ‘We are worth waiting for!’ in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The message is that, until travel restrictions are lifted, the Mother City will foster a long-distance relationship with tourists, creating hope about being reunited when it is once again safe to do so.
Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Tourism, James Vos, said: “I am very proud of the efforts that Cape Town Tourism has taken to launch such a meaningful campaign, bearing a very warm message of hope and positivity at such a challenging time.”
Cape Town Tourism said the campaign aimed to elicit feelings of love at first sight, a sense of getting to know the city on an intimate level and to savour the best of Cape Town.
‘Postcards from Cape Town’ will be posted across Love Cape Town's digital platforms, showing off the city’s natural beauty, and a video titled ‘We are worth waiting for!’ will be shared across digital platforms.
“Your guests may not be able to dive into our oceans right now or laze on our shores. They can’t explore our wine farms or eat at our award-winning restaurants or be face-to-face with our locals, but we want you to know that we are still thinking about you and, when the time is right, we’ll be here ready to welcome your guests in true Cape Town style,” said CEO of Cape Town Tourism, Enver Duminy.
