Carlson Rezidor opens first hotel in Zambia

Carlson Rezidor has announced the opening of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lusaka.
The 142-room hotel is the group’s 22nd hotel in operation in Africa and brings Carlson Rezidor’s total African portfolio of properties in operation and under development to 48 hotels with 10 889 rooms.

“As one of the major capital cities on the African continent, Lusaka is an important market for Carlson Rezidor, and offers excellent business opportunities,” said Andrew McLachlan, Vice President Business Development Africa & Indian Ocean Islands.

“The emerging region of Africa is one of our key areas for future development, and we aim to further grow Radisson Blu at primary destinations across the continent,” he continued.

The hotel is situated in a prominent location on the Great East Road, adjacent to the Mulungushi International Conference Centre and opposite the Arcades Shopping and Entertainment Complex.

The property’s guest rooms and suites are spacious, combining contemporary comfort with classic elegance. All rooms are equipped with high-end amenities, including air-conditioning and free high-speed wireless Internet access. The hotel also hosts a restaurant, fitness centre, bar, swimming pool and an executive lounge.

The hotel is also an ideal venue for conferences, meetings, intimate get-togethers and special events – thanks to its excellent location and well-equipped facilities. The modern meeting rooms vary in size, offering flexibility for any type of gathering. The spacious ballroom and versatile pre-function area are ideal for large events. All rooms feature modern audio-visual equipment, air-conditioning and free high-speed wireless Internet access.

Future openings include Radisson Blu hotels in Maputo, Mozambique; Nairobi, Kenya; Luanda, Angola; and Kigali, Rwanda.
