Credit cards still accepted, say Zim hotels

SEVERAL Zimbabwean hotels have confirmed that they are still accepting credit cards for the settlement of accounts. This follows a report on Travel News Now on August 10 claiming that credit cards would not be accepted by some hotels until August 21 because the exchange rate following the re-valuation of the Zimbabwean dollar was unknown. Visitors were advised to take cash for additional expenses. Some hotels however, say they would prefer if guests paid cash since it can take weeks for the transaction to go through. Zimbabwe recently announced it would be re-valuating its currency. The old notes are valid until August 20. Foreign exchange in the form of US dollars, British pounds sterling and euros are accepted.
