Delta Air Lines has banned the shipment of all lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo trophies on its services worldwide, effective immediately.
Prior to the ban, the airline implemented a strict acceptance policy whereby the transportation of all hunting trophies had to comply with government regulations regarding protected species.
Delta will also review acceptance policies of other hunting trophies with appropriate government agencies and other organisations supporting legal shipments.
In April, South African Airways embargoed the transportation of rhino, elephant, lion and tiger trophies on its services worldwide. However, SAA has since reversed its decision.
