Ekurhuleni will showcase some of its attractions on September 16, including lodging establishments, eateries, cultural attractions, and family-friendly and entertainment offerings, as part of the Tourism Month celebrations.
The day will end with a tour involving tourism stakeholders, who will check into the Elizabeth Lodge in Boksburg and proceed to Umoja Restaurant in Wattville for a light lunch. The guests will visit the Lola Park family entertainment, and end the day with dinner and entertainment at Wild Waters.
The following day guests will visit the ke-Ditselana Multicultural Village in Vosloorus. Ke-Ditselana is a 24-hectare site hosting nine of South Africa’s indigenous homesteads, including Sepedi, Xitsonga, isiSwati, isiZulu, isiNdebele, Setswana, Sesotho, isiXhosa, and Tshivenda. Indian, Afrikaans, and Coloured cultural experiences will also be on offer. Music stars Ringo Madlingozi and Die Boere Orkes will perform on Saturday night.
“Our guests will be given information on the tourism destinations the city offers in hospitality, eco-tourism, entertainment and cultural tourism,” Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Justice Mohale, explained. “We are also working on developing tourism routes and infrastructure that will become major tourism attractions for our locals, and international tourists.”
