Ethiopian ups flights to Cape Town, Johannesburg

Ethiopian Airlines will make changes to its schedules and routings between Cape Town and Addis Ababa, effective July 1.

Currently, the airline operates nine flights a week to Cape Town, two of which are direct from Addis Ababa, four via Gaborone and three via Johannesburg. From July 1 the airline will operate four flights a week via Johannesburg and four direct to Cape Town. In addition to its current daily ADD-JNB-ADD flight, the extra flight via JNB brings the airline’s total flights to JNB to 11 a week.

Ethiopian Airlines will also change the aircraft on its Cape Town route from a Boeing 737 to a Boeing 787. This will increase the capacity per flight from 137 passengers to 286.
