THE Ras Kutani Lodge in Tanzania has been closed following a fire last week that destroyed the main dining and sitting area, bar, kitchen and two cottages.
As the lodge cannot function without these facilities, all bookings for July and August have been cancelled and refunds are being issued. Contractors have said the repairs will take about six to eight weeks. The lodge plans to reopen in September.
The fire was caused by the spread of an unauthorised fire outside the property.
